valve open
https://anun333.github.io/fieldmesh/vocab/valve_open/
Whether a valve is open: an irrigation zone's, a trough's supply, a main valve. A truth, so it has no unit (§3.4).
- Unit (UCUM)
- none: a truth, open or shut (§3.4)
- Labels
- en valve open
- es válvula abierta
- Status
- Local, because neither CF nor ODM2 has the term, and owed upstream to ODM2. Its durable identifier will be a w3id.org address that redirects here (Q4c), so links to this page keep working.
- Defined in

Scope note
A genuine gap. CF names physical quantities and has no term for an actuator's state;
the nearest it has, surface_downward_mass_flux_of_water_due_to_irrigation, is a rate
of water, which a valve's state is not. ODM2 has water pumped for agriculture, a volume,
but nothing for whether a valve stood open. A controller reports exactly this, opening
and closing (OpenSprinkler over MQTT, docs/notes/irrigation-projects.md), and the
watering check needs it to tell a blocked drip line from a bed nobody watered.
To be published upstream to ODM2 with vessel_fill_fraction.
